Crochet 101 - Learn How You Can Be Making Your Very Own Crochet Patterns
How to Get Free Patchwork Pattern
If you are fond of patchwork, then you can have idea of doing it from number of patchwork pattern explained online. A simple click on mouse can get you in front of some free patchwork to try. Initially, it may prove a complicated and obscure arrangement of number of varying shapes or simple also if it is in the form of fabricated checkerboard, which is being described here. Before beginning the process, you will be needed to select the basic design for the patchwork. If you are a beginner then, it will be good to go for a simple patchwork pattern. In a case, you are looking for these patterns online; then you can find some simple free patchwork pattern. These patterns are usually simple like in the shape of squares and rectangles. Then, with a practice, you can make complicated patterns. Here is simple patchwork i.e. checkerboard for the beginners. For this patchwork, you need to have three different fabrics. Always chose the fabrics while considering their wash ability and durability most importantly. Besides that, color, pattern and texture must also be considered for a beautiful and pleasing design. Now, preshrink and press all the fabric selected. Two of them must be in solid colors and one in print. Thereafter, cut cardboards templates and outline them on fabric leaving ¼ inches space for seam. All the pieces must be cut in that way. Now, arrange the pieces according to their color and size. After that, stitch the squares forming eight rows of eight alternate colors and applying ¼ inches for seam. All the open seams must be opened and pressed and then stitch the rows together. You can piece patchwork fabric together either by sewing them by hands or by machine. Pattern pieces must be hold tightly with right sides together. You should pin long seams to line up the pieces correctly. To make a square, stitch four triangles and to make a row, stitch four squares. Reiterate this process to make a second row. To make a border, cut strips from printed fabric. Use these strips to border the checkerboard on two sides by stitching all the pieces together. Include two rows along the top and two at the bottom of the checkerboard. The outside corners are bordered with print fabric strips. Quilt batting and backing fabric is used to form backside of this free patchwork pattern. Now stitch the three layers together. Use quilting ring to quilt the pattern in your desired form. If you wish to hand sew the pattern, then, you must use small running stitches. But if you want to machine sew it, then you should use medium length stitches and make sure that it is stitches along the penciled lines. It is necessary that you piece one complete block at a time, and then pressing al the seams towards the darker patches. All the blocks must be stitched together while forming rows. Be sure that all the blocks are lined up one next to another. Complete the patchwork pattern by basting bias strips on the outside corners of the design. You can have several simple but free patchwork patterns online. For a beginner, it is better to start their patch working projects with these patterns. After, acquiring complete knowledge, they can go for complicated patchworks.
