These tips will make you work easier and systematically done. Some of the quilting tips are: * By using your children’s coloring book for appliqué patterns, you can get a wide variety of designs at nominal costs. The size of these designs can be easily increased at the local copy shop to get the required size. * Some helpful tips for hand quilting: o Thread a number of needles simultaneously onto your reel of thread before you begin to work o Thereafter, slide them back in a similar way as you arrange the length of thread that you require for the last one, prior to cut it off. o Due to sewing, the eyes get tired. Then, it becomes very hard to see the hole of the needle, as it looks very smaller. You can use notebook binder for the purpose. o Place all the directions in a clear plastic sleeve to keep it fresh for projects in future o It is a best method to store information about each quilt you make. These changes are: o Not hand stitching, but use a water-soluble glue stick that is easily accessible at your nearby fabric store. Apply it on the opposite side of your piece of fabric next to seam edge. o After that, turn over the seam, and glue it down o Let it dry for a while before dong machine stitch lest your machine needle can get slightly gummy. o Right before stitching, pull up the freezer paper and sew it. * It is very convenient to place colors and designs of fabric in clear plastic containers.
