Tracing Patterns on Quilt Square

Another alternative is that you can get a rubber stamp made of your baby’s handprints or footprints. It may take few days. Costs vary depending on the size of the stamp. You can also use iron-on transfer technique for making handprint or design on fabrics. In this process, handprint or design is duplicated onto special paper and then iron the design onto the fabric.

After selection of pictures, you can also ask for the photocopy of pictures onto transfer paper, and iron them onto the quilt squares. Another method is that by using Photoshop software on computer; you can print it onto iron transfer paper and then transfer it onto the quilt square. Thus, you will get any baby pattern of your choice on quilt square that you will make to make baby quilt.

Another pattern suggestion for quilt square is that you can use Appliqué on it. It is a simple design, which can be made on the top of the fabric of quilt square. You can give attractive and striking look to the quilt square by using coordinating or contrasting fabrics.

You can also write names, birthdates etc through permanent marker, fabric pens, puffy paints, stitches and stencil on the quilt squares. This information is written directly on the squares with your chosen design.

In brief, to make a pattern on quilt square of your baby quilt or any other quilt, you have to follow these steps. First of all, take a design and get it Xerox, now make a tracing template. Thereafter, trace the outline on the fabric, and embroider it in a way you like. You can write any information on it with puffy paint. Thus, you can make a beautiful quilt for your baby by joining such quilt squares.
